For hyperspace 2022 (a week-long student project) our team was tasked with creating a new pre-security food and beverage installation. As the project leader, I was responsible for team organization, roles, and overall concepts and ideation. Our design placed first in the competition.
Meant to satisfy those waiting for a ride, on a work break, or those who are soon to meet their loved ones, the pre-security vending area at the Syracuse Hancock Airport provides a variety of fresh food options in a modern, innovative space. This new installation serves as a place for visitors to disassociate from the commonly stressful environment of air travel, whilst evoking an atmosphere of relaxation. Reminiscent of Syracuse’s iconic Carrier Dome, this design also incorporates various curved features and elements.
